Job Announcement: House Mentor

Sacred Roots Farm (SRF), Inc., is a faith-based,

non-profit organization (501C3) seeking to hire a House Mentor.

Program Director

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires someone with ethics/beliefs that are in accordance with the spiritual foundation of the ministry. It also requires someone with excellent interpersonal and relational skills, genuine empathy for sexually exploited women and their children, healthy boundaries, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be able to clearly articulate their calling from God/desire to serve sexually exploited/trafficked youth, women, and their children, along with being spiritually mature and discerning.  The successful applicant must possess a valid driver’s license; be able to set proper relationship boundaries; be caring but firm; be available to listen without judgment; and have a flexible schedule.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Live in the House with up to 12 participants, modeling compassion, healthy boundaries, and a sustainable rhythm of life as evidenced in the Bible.

  2. Be on duty from 6 pm to 6 am, serving as the first point of contact for participants

  3. With input from the Program Director, create, facilitate, and monitor a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule of activities, house chores, and meals.

  4. To create an emotionally safe home environment

  5. To model appropriate conflict resolution, parenting & life skills to participants

  6. To teach program participants basic living skills (i.e., keeping bedrooms clean, doing chores on time, maintaining a schedule, etc.)

  7. To ensure general tidiness and cleanliness of house is maintained by participating in household activities while overseeing chores are being completed.

  8. To complete all necessary shopping for the house supplies/staple items.

  9. To participate in recovery programming with other staff members recognizing that all people can gain from participation

  10. To continuously analyze and evaluate the effectives of the housing program for improvement purposes and to share such finding with the Leadership Team.

  11. To promote a team approach to problem solving and goal setting.

  12. To provide overall direction with a caring as well as a servant-oriented disposition

  13. Transport the participants to church, the store or other activity as needed.

INTAKE DUTIES:

  1. Participate in the intake interview with the Program Coordinator.

  2. To welcome new participant into housing program and assign bedroom, equipping her with a house and bedroom key.

  3. To orient new participant to farm and other participants

  4. To explain procedures and residential rules to new participant.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  1. Able to clearly communicate their calling to the ministry of SRF and network with potential/current donors to raise financial support.

  2. To supervise and provide support to program participants.

  3. Assist as gifted with administrative, agricultural or maintenance tasks for 8 hours per week

  4. To participate with Program Coordinator and Key Workers in case planning and program delivery for participants.

  5. To complete all Weekly Logging and forward to Program Director.

  6. To participate in weekly team meetings with all other program staff.

  7. To coordinate the receiving of donated items for the house.
